Ring any bells?
- What would you like to do that you can’t do at the moment?
- A meal out at a local pub with no-one having to forfeit a pint because they’re driving?
- An afternoon at a craft fair at Thoresby Hall with a friend?
- A direct bus to the pictures or hospital or nearest train station?

Research in Ollerton
These and more were some options raised by residents and tourists who have been surveyed on the street in New Ollerton and at the award-winning Ollerton Watermill and Teashop.
We want to find out what their experience of travelling in the area is at the moment and how they would like to be able to travel around the area, ideally. This is part of a study into sustainable transport options for the Ollerton area.
Businesses around Ollerton and Boughton, including those in or coming to the expanding Sherwood Energy Village business park (on the former colliery site) will be surveyed as to how their staff and visitors travel, and would like to travel in the future.
The aims of the study
The aim is to develop sustainable transport options for the area, reducing unnecessary journeys and creating options for journeys that people want to do, not just timetabled buses but ideas like car-sharing, dial-a-ride buses and cycling. Watch this space for more innovative suggestions from the area.
