Stonebridge City Farm
Stonebridge City farm has successfully completed its project with the Giant Green Umbrella, setting up of a pilot green waste composting scheme which produces worms and compost.
After a number of technical problems with the composting process, the system is now working well with a stronger emphasis given to the wormery, which produces higher quality compost and a steady supply of worms for fishing and home wormeries.

The Initiative
This initiative is increasing the number of people with disability who are able to benefit from this project which complements the work Stonebridge is already doing.
Green waste collection is being combined with food boxes to provide a complete recycling process and this has lead to considering the collection and processing of domestic food waste in conjunction with the Institute’s New Technology Initiative project on tackling commercial food waste.
CRED bid has now been prepared in conjunction with Nottingham City Council to pilot a kitchen waste collection and composting process in St. Ann ’s, based on the work already undertaken by Stonebridge City Farm and a feasibility study prepared by consultants for the Council.
