If your company is aiming to grow fast or faster, achieve an important breakthrough, make a step change or fill a key skills gap, then Knowledge Transfer Partnerships could help you. Knowledge Transfer Partnerships involve one or more graduates working in a company on a project central to the needs of your company whilst drawing on the specialist knowledge of the Nottingham Trent University. Projects normally run for 2 years and attract significant government funding.

The scheme has run very successfully for nearly 30 years. In essence it equates to a high quality, high value form of consultancy, at only modest cost, and with up to 60% funding from the government.

A Partnership
The scheme is a three-way partnership between company, University and graduate where all three parties benefit. Your company could benefit from increased profits and improved competitiveness. You would also get expert help from University specialists and gain a high calibre graduate at low cost with the option to employ them at the end of the project.

To participate in the scheme, you identify a project that is key to your company's future, for which you currently lack the necessary expertise and resources. A University specialist with relevant skills and knowledge will then help you draw up a proposal for your project. If approved, we help recruit a bright graduate to work on the project within your company, supported by regular visits and input from the University specialist. Your company should have at least 10 employees (ideally), healthy finances (1 year's audited accounts are required) and senior management support for the project.

Success!
One recently completed knowledge transfer partnership run by the institute has resulted in a major company in the food distribution sector gaining an Environment Management System and saving hundreds of thousands of pounds.
